It’s nothing short of spectacular watching the share price of TomTom and other PND manufacturers over the last 48 hours:

Then again if you look at more than five days for context you’ll notice that both companies have returned to the share value they had in August-September and have fallen back down after a slight upwards trend. In March of this year they both had 1/2 or 1/3 of their current share value.
I think proprietary maps are doomed in the long term, but this posting is a bit of a hyperbole 🙂
