I know how frustrating it can be to see comments you have been asked for reported in the media in a way that doesn’t necessarily reflect what you actually said (ie in context). I found that in the piece that I was asked to contribute to on BBC website on Monday (see: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/5413010.stm), which there have been various comments on in some blogs. At teh end of teh day you are at mercy of the researcher and their editor.
Incidentally, I worked quite hard to weave a mention of OpenStreetMap into that piece (and get a linkout made) – which they did – and think it would be good to note it for posterity via this blog alongside the NatGeo note. [It has been pointed to on talk list already]
