A summary of all the things happening in the OpenStreetMap (OSM) world.
- The new chairman of the OSMF-Board is Simon Poole, new secretary is Frederik Ramm and Oliver Kühn remains treasurer. Working Group Minutes will follow in a while.
- The Knight Foundation supports OSM with a grant of $575,000 to “improve the core infrastructure of OpenStreetMap”.
- Ilya Zverev created an OSM GPS Points Map based on the OSM GPX planet dump.
- A new Coastline-View has been integrated into the OSM Inspector. You can find more information about the OSMI and the Coastline-View in the OSM Wiki. Paul Norman created some new coastline files too.
- The Online OSM Routing Engine Gosmore is searching for a sponsored server.
- Andrew Buck built a Virtual Machine with an OSM tile and geocoding server.
- Bing has some new satellite imagery.
- There is an open position with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team and EUROSHA Project. The Worldbank is also looking for a new team member.
